A Step-By-Step Guide To Disaster-Proofing Your Business
Above the Law
While many of us have survived natural disasters, COVID-caused shutdowns on a global scale and the requirement to rapidly shift to remote work/learning showed many people just how underprepared they were for such a transition.
Continuity and succession planning is something that we’re often good at for our clients, but we aren’t so good at creating those plans for ourselves. Fact Pattern Similarities Between Lawyering And Parenting
Above the Law
As mom to four teens/young adults, the past 20-ish years have been filled with navigating distinct personalities, sibling arguments, and surviving the logistics of a largish family. I added more chaos to my plate just a few years ago when I decided to attend law school (on top of parenting AND a career in crisis management).

What the h-e-double-hockey-sticks was I thinking?
Despite the intense fog of war that has enveloped me during the past few years of law school, COVID-19, mock trials, and externships, three things have become crystal clear:
Lawyering isn’t much different than parenting.
Kids and opposing counsels have a LOT in common.
There are never any days off. -
Collaborate, Automate to Amplify Bar Exam Efforts and Preserve for the Record

For all the failures of technology during #barpocalypse, I encourage this year’s applicants to use technology to your advantage. Mai is also an Army veteran who counts running as her favorite “healthy habit” to counterbalance her struggle with anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder. She began suffering from those conditions soon after she left the Army in 2000, and though she stresses that they are non-combat-related, they have inspired a passion for supporting fellow vets and active military as they navigate civilian life.
The former military public affairs specialist hosts a Veterans’ Breakfast the first Saturday of every month at Perkins’ Restaurant and Bakery off Highway 204, open to anyone who has served in the armed forces and to those who appreciate them. (The next one is this Saturday, June 7, at 9 a.m.)
Mai also serves as the community director for the local chapter of Team RWB—that’s red, white and blue—a nationwide organization that connects veterans to their local communities through physical and social activity. -

'Old Glory' Keeps Soldier Safe, Makes Way Home
army.mil
Military retirement ceremonies are a time for saying goodbye to a career. Families and Soldiers invest in a way of life, and these ceremonies are a way of bidding farewell to those military traditions.
For one Fort Polk Soldier, the post retirement ceremony Jan. 26, was not only the culmination of his career, but also time to retire the flag that he credited with keeping him and its original owner safe through deployments since World War II. -
C-130 Reunited with Crew Chief from Vietnam War

The two C-130s on Texas Avenue are not just mock-ups used for training. Rather, they are aircraft with a lot of history and sentimental value for one former Air Force crew chief who traveled to Fort Polk Oct. 1 to see his old bird.
Retired Air Force Master Sgt. Bobby Hunter was a crew chief on the camouflaged C-130 from 1967-1968 in the midst of the Vietnam War. He tried for years to locate the plane and learned last year that it was here on post thanks to the help of Keith Morrow…The two C-130s on Texas Avenue are not just mock-ups used for training. Retired Air Force Master Sgt. Bobby Hunter was a crew chief on the camouflaged C-130 from 1967-1968 in the midst of the Vietnam War. He tried for years to locate the plane and learned last year that it was here on post thanks to the help of Keith Morrow, installation G-3 air officer, and an aircraft historian who helped Hunter locate the plane.
